Jean-Philippe Gervais has been a Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at North Carolina State University for the last two years. Prior to this appointment, he held the Canada Research Chair in agri-industries and international trade at Laval University where he worked from 1999 to 2008. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics in 1999 from Iowa State University. His main research interests focused on linkages between domestic and trade policies in agriculture as well as the determinants of competitiveness in agri-food markets.
