The 2011 workshop of the SPAA research network will feature experts from Canada and the United States. Speakers will present results from on-going research projects pertaining to issues confronting agri-food supply chains, from the farm to consumers.

SPAA is a research network which brings together an impressive group of experts to conduct research on a wide range of issues affecting the performance and structure of agriculture and agri-products industry and to communicate their research results to government, industry, the general public and the academic community. SPAA is supported by the Enabling Research for Competitive Agriculture (ERCA) program whose aim is to strengthen innovative agricultural policy research in Canada. The main areas of research of the SPAA network are:

- Micro Decisions and Performance
- Farm management systems, business risk and environmental externalities
- Farm heterogeneity, demographics and policy
